The objectives established since the beginning our project have been reached along the years. The work done over more than 14 years has been arduous and very gratifying, because Via Delphi has been able to go further on what was originally contemplated, reaching achievements of great relevance for animals' wellbeing.
The initial process to acquire knowledge, obtain the adaptation of our first dolphins, and assuming the integral responsibility implied in the care for our animals, was a path taken not only by our original delphinarium staff, but also hand in hand with our company's executives. As a result, this experience became the sensitive motor that established not only parallel programs, but also the parameters from which we have developed every single one of our projects:

Health Programs
It is our priority to maintain our dolphins' wellbeing. In order to achieve this purpose, we carry on strict health program based in preventive medicine, observation and a deep knowledge of every dolphin. These vital tasks are only possible with the close collaboration of our veterinary and training teams.
General Objective
Maintain an optimal state of health in every animal under our care and develop lines of investigation in order to achieve our goals, thru our means of diagnosis and the use of the most advanced information at our reach on an international level.
Our general objective is based on three main principles:
- Daily revision of food and supplements used, as well as a close look at the feeding systems.
- Daily observations of the organisms, recording their handling, behavior, feeding and health.
- Quarterly veterinarian monitoring on every individual. This monitoring includes: blood sampling, coproparasitoscopic, feces and spiracle (blowhole) bacteriology, gastric content and cytology examination, ultrasound and constant physiological revisions.
