There has been evidence that human beings have interacted with animals as long as historic records can recall. However these relationships were created in order to achieve certain needs related to man kind's survival. This situation induced closer interaction with certain types of species, which represented a learning opportunity of great value, and gave humans a higher sensibility towards other living beings.
Under these circumstances, human beings have had under their care a wide variety of species, answering to different purposes; but It was not until a couple of decades ago when important changes happened inside exhibition places like aquariums and and zoos, were their actions have been aimed towards animals' wellbeing, acknowledging the unique and determinating role of each species in our planet's natural equilibrium.
Among the most common species that have been under human care for a long time, and considered one of the most fascinating animal for man kind, is the Tursiops truncantusor bottle-nose dolphin; a specie that has become our top of mind image when we refer to dolphins in general. Particular abilities to communicate with humans an other extraordinary qualities have been attributed to these remarkable animals, but what can truly be stated is that the responsibility for their care has to include the search for profound knowledge of the specie and demanding protection for them and their habitat in the ocean.
Being aware of this commitment, Via Delphi was created more than 14 years ago as an ambicious project that considered educational, social, scientific and dolphin reproduction possibilities, working together on a daily basis under the main purpose of providing our dolphins the most wellbeing possible.
Our Focus
Via Delphi, created on June 28 1990, has always been recognized for their growth based on a main focus: the oportunity of keeping animals under our care, and the responsabilty not only applied to them but to their environment and our society.
 Our History
Once our company was established, we initiated in 1991 the legal requests to obtain the necessary permits, as well as the design and construction of the Escollera Delphinarium in front of Xcaret beach.
 Chronology
The first birth of a dolphin calf in our facilities took place in Xcaret on September 23, 1992. "Xuna" is a female individual that, on an apparent un precedented event in Latin Amercia, made history breaking the survival record of the time in our country.
 Our Facilities
The physical space and infrastucture required to adjust to the specific needs of a project like Delphinus Riviera Maya and Delphinus Costa Maya, became a challenge. Both delphinariums were built inside natural areas seeking the ideal conditions for dolphins.
 Programs
The objectives established at the beginning of our project have been reached along the years. The work done over more than 14 years has been arduous and very gratifying, because Via Delphi has been able to go further on what was originally contemplated, reaching achievements of great relevance for animals' wellbeing.
