Veterinarian dolphin care.

It is vital for us to ensure the welfare of dolphins, so we have an strict health program for dolphins based on the concept of preventive medicine and the constant monitoring of the health conditions of each dolphin. Knowing the characteristics of each dolphin is vital in this task due to the collaboration between veterinarians, biologist and trainers. 

General Purpose of the Dolphin Care Health Program: 

Veterinarians must kept in optimal health conditions each of the dolphins. They must develop lines of research to achieve this, using the diagnostic tools and the most advanced information in order to reach the welfare of dolphins.

This is based on three main points: 

• Daily monitoring of food and supplements.
• Daily observation and record of dolphins behavior, diet and health. 
• Veterinary quarterly monitoring of all individuals. Sampling blood, stool, stool bacteriology and spiracle, revision of gastric contents and cytology, ultrasound and review of physiological constants. 

These are some of the veterinary criteria that we apply to reach our final goal: the welfare of dolphins.
