Group of tour operators from Sweden, Norway, Finland and Denmark (TUI Nordic) supported by Delphinus and Save the Children Quintana Roo gave a donation of warm clothing and toys for boys and girls of the “Agricultural Zone”, a settlement in the continental part of the Municipality of Isla Mujeres, Quintana Roo.

The clothes and the toys delivered were collected from the Nordic countries by travelers who are visiting Cancun and the Riviera Maya as well as by the collaborators from the agencies that operate in these countries and that send them in November and December to be delivered to vulnerable population. The “Agricultural Zone” community located in the continental zone of the Municipality of Isla Mujeres, is a small settlement of several families by the roadside of the Francisco May community.

The joy of receiving a small gift.

A couple of classrooms are located there, one built and sustained by CONAFE and another which operates as a Toy Library where children are cared for in the evenings by Save the Children Quintana Roo staff, who help them with their homework, as well as with training on human rights and the child, among others.

From Northern Europe to Mayan Children  Nordic tour operators give out toys.   Her smile says it all.
